MONSTA X member Jooheon is releasing a solo album. It is his first official solo debut since debuting as MONSTA X in May 2015. His first mini album 'LIGHTS' is the culMINAtion of eight years of hard work as the main rapper, producer, and songwriter in the team. He has been focusing on his inner sound in search of 'what is most like me' and is ready to break the world's views and prejudices and welcome the real 'me'.

'LIGHTS' is full of honest emotional records alongside his image of explosIVE energy and charisma. He talks about his past, his struggles with his debut, his current longing for freedom in the fierce reality, and his future promise to be with his fans forever. Here, the positIVE message of finding hope in the wounds and consolation of the struggle for freedom also shines strongly.

The title track "FREEDOM" is a song about a boy's heart flying toward freedom, and it summarizes Joo Heon's various positions, including rap, vocals, and production. In particular, the lyrical introduction of the piano strings and the hip-hop sound that meets the magnificent choir are full of freshness that makes Jooheon newly recognizable. Jooheon's voice longing for freedom is positIVE and wistful, and the reversed composition of vocals and rap provides a liberating catharsis. It is a new genre of 'Jooheon' that draws a line with his previous work.

The music video captures the intense process of finding the 'real me' and helps immerse the listener in the song. The conflicting images of the pain that comes with freedom are expressed from various angles to bring out the most honest and pure emotions. At the end of the process, Jooheon believes in his own existence, finds freedom, and leads the narratIVE on his own. The redefined image of Jooheon will convey a different appeal from that of MONSTAEX.

His first solo album is both inTENse and bold, as he finds the space to explore change. Every sound is a record of Jooheon's immersion in his own heart.
