Anyway, it's nice to know that we can still dream together.

I remember this time a year ago around this time. We were getting ready to make a new album and we were so excited, like we were doing this all for the first time. We laughed a lot more when we shouldn't have, and we had people who loved us in all our places and times, out of habit.

We still don't quite know what to say to them 13 years later, to the people who first learned to swallow their tears in the dark when it was too hard to read their expressions, to the people who first told us it was okay if we just looked at them. But for now, we wish that the winter that befell us could be forgotten like a dream. At least for us now, not because we wish it would come back, but because it is our history and memory. Without that winter, we might not have become as close as we are now, and we might not have made it through that long time. Through that long, long winter, we learned to survive another time together, and now we honor the time we've been through by remembering it.

This album is special because we've grown a little more since last year, and it's our first full-length album as Highlights, but most of all, we wanted to make it because we thought they would like it, and we thought they would like it, and that's why we make every album or record now. We want to add another good song with our voice to the playlist. We want to show them a new stage. We want to give them that time to talk and build new memories together, one by one. And it's a little selfish, but we just want to see their smiles that we love.

And there will come a day when we sing out of habit and they hear us sing out of habit. And for those days, we'll learn to dream together now, when we can't even remember which winter it was, when the days are so uneventful, so insignificant and warm as air. There's nothing more helpless than a dream, but we'll find it again and again, and we'll try to be with it, though it may not be the same dream. We won't be looking at the same place anyway. We'll be looking at them, and they'll be looking at us, until this sweet dream of ours is over. But still, it's good to know that we can dream together, even now, and long, long afterward.
