BLACKPINK, YG's representative girl group that debuted on August 8, 2016, and garnered great attention for its record-breaking performance with its distinctive sound and various charms through the "SQUARE ONE" and "SQUARE TWO" series and "Like the Last Time," is back with its long-awaited first mini album "SQUARE UP" in 2018.

"SQUARE UP" is a continuation of BLACKPINK's "SQUARE" series, which has been going on since their debut, and is a continuation of their debut album "SQUARE ONE" and second album "SQUARE TWO". The album title "SQUARE UP," which means "let's stick together" and "let's fight," reflects BLACKPINK's more mature and stronger music and concepts, and conveys the message of "let's face the world with confidence.

The title track "DDU-DU DDU-DU" highlights BLACKPINK's unique color with its oriental percussion rhythm and original whistle lead sound over a strong trap beat. The catchy bass part, hookline in the pre-drop, and rap in the second verse are enough to make BLACKPINK's vocals stand out. Armed with a spectrum that expands as the song unfolds and a drop that escalates, the destructive power of "Tudududu" is reminiscent of a tank.

Leading producer TEDDY wrote the lyrics for "Toodoo Toodoo," and TEDDY, 24, R.Tee, and Bekuh Boom contributed to the song's composition, raising fans' expectations for the inimitable new charisma of BLACKPINK.

SQUARE UP, BLACKPINK's first mini album since their debut, will be released in two versions, PINK VER and BLACK VER, with different booklet images based on the concept of duality, just like their name, BLACKPINK. The album will be available for pre-order on June 8 and will be released on June 20 at online and offline music stores nationwide, including YG Select.
