ARTMS <Club Icarus>
Everyone living in a modern metropolis carries a hidden wound in their heart. Beneath the meticulously constructed forest of buildings bathed in dazzling lights, there are those who live in the shadows. They gather at their secret virtual club, <Club Icarus>, to pour out their stories.
Thus, the title of the intro track is ‘Club for the Broken,’ named as a club for those who have been wounded.
The title track ‘Icarus’ embodies the hope that, like the myth of Icarus, those who have been wounded may heal and that new hope may bloom from their wounds. The rhythm and melody that slowly build up within the intricately repeated piano lines declare ARTMS as the most aesthetic group in K-POP.
In particular, the music video created with Digipedi maximizes artistic expression by incorporating modern dance and is completed through the members’ perfect synchronization.
“Obsessed” sings about obsession, one of the modern diseases that city dwellers suffer from. It addresses the current trend of relieving stress through food, consumption, or obsession with others. However, the expression captured in the music is not irritating or harsh, but beautiful. It seems to suggest that obsession is a beautiful instinct, even though it may be a disease to some.
“Goddess” is the most unexpected track on Club Icarus. It is a hyper pop genre, and all the lyrics are in English. The hook is empty rather than filled. These extreme and vacuum-like expressions are perhaps a reflection of our lives in 2025.
“Verified Beauty” was a song prepared from the moment ARTMS first signed with Mode House. At the moment when the five girls took a step into a bigger world, the young girls became women with their own beauty.
The final track, “Burn,” was already released as OMA, capturing the present moment where they have evolved from this month’s girls to ARTMS. After six years of waiting, they are now burning everything and spreading their new wings.
We hope that the loneliness, solitude, and wounds of those living in the city will find solace in <Club Icarus>.
