Version requests and restocks for K-pop albums
When selling K-pop albums, we often receive requests to ship a specific version.
We always honor these requests whenever possible. However, if a requested version is out of stock, it cannot be shipped.
The most common follow-up question we receive is:
“When will that version be restocked?”
This question usually comes from a misunderstanding that sellers can reorder specific versions directly from the manufacturer or supplier. In reality, this is not how album restocks work.
Initial shipment (first release)
For example, if Stray Kids – ATE is released in two versions (Boom and Chk Chk), and the initial order quantity is 10 copies,
the supplier typically ships both versions in equal quantities, such as 5 copies of each.
This equal distribution generally applies only to the initial release.
Restocks (additional orders)
For orders placed after the initial release, the situation changes.
Sellers can no longer place orders specifying versions such as:
-
“Only the Boom version”
-
“Only the Chk Chk version”
Restocked inventory is assembled and shipped based entirely on the supplier’s available stock at that time, and versions are selected at random.
Albums with multiple versions
The same rule applies to albums with many versions.
For example, Stray Kids – SKZ IT TAPE ‘DO IT’ (Accordion Version) has a total of 8 versions.
If the initial order is 40 copies, the first shipment will usually include equal quantities of each version.
However, for subsequent restocks, version ratios cannot be guaranteed, and sellers cannot know in advance which versions will be included.
Summary
-
Initial shipment: Versions are evenly distributed
-
Restocked inventory: Versions are random, based on supplier stock
-
Sellers cannot request specific versions for restocks
-
Therefore, we cannot provide an exact answer to “When will that version be restocked?”
