"I want to travel a long way someday.

The boy suddenly thought this as he opened his eyes from the light sleep of dawn. Like the waves lapping at the shore, leaving a natural pattern. For once, I'd like to wander aimlessly down a road that has no purpose or ending. The surroundings are quiet and cool, like deep water, and a small shIVEr runs down my spine. The fog is slowly lifting as the boy who opened his eyes gently wakes the others. So much for dawn.

The cliffs that rose angrily into the sky loomed behind the clearing fog. The cliffs are barely a day's walk away, and everywhere is overgrown with dry branches. Once upon a time, this must have been a living forest, full of green leaves. The boys help each other to their feet. As they dust themselves off, their gaze naturally wanders to the cliffs in the disTANce.

First, they need to know where they are. The boys look at each other by the trunks of several large, beautiful trees.

There's a chill in the air, like a faint breath if you open your mouth, but you can't crouch. We need to know why.

Why we are here. The only way to find out is to head for the high wall, the cliff that you can't stop looking up at.
