ITZY, the "monster rookie" who made a mark on K-pop with her debut, will be making a comeback on July 29, 2019.

ITZY has been recognized as one of the hottest newcomers in the 2019 K-pop industry since their first digital single "IT'z Different" and title track "Daladala" in February this year, racking up numerous "best and first" records. The MV for their debut song "Daladala" surpassed 10 million views within 18 hours of its release and over 100 million views in 57 days, setting the record for the fastest 100 million views for a K-pop debut group. They also set numerous new records, including the shortest terrestrial music broadcasting title for a K-pop girl group and a total of nine music broadcasting titles, including seven terrestrial titles, proving the reputation of JYP as a "girl group master" and signaling their success as a "fourth-generation girl group.

Based on these achievements, 'monster rookie' ITZY is returning with a new album, 'IT'z ICY', aimed at the summer!

The title track 'ICY' is a '2019 summer song' that expresses the appearance of being cold but full of passion inside. The five members of ITZY, who are full of powerful dreams and confidence, decorate the hot summer coolly and head upward without hesitation.

The song takes a step further from the message of respecting and loving the 'me' who stands at the center of the world in the previous song 'Daladala' and sings about the confidence and assurance of the 'me'.The honest and dignified lyrics and the energetic charm of the five ITZY members meet and exude special energy.

With edgy and trendy melodies, lyrics such as "I'm confident in the dreams inside me" and "I know my own answers" express the confidence of focusing on inner values based on love and faith in oneself rather than following a cookie-cutter mold. It sends a relatable message of acceptance and respect for individuality and taste.

The new album, "IT'z ICY," was realized by a solid lineup of writers who worked hard to create a high quality album. In particular, "ICY" is the first "cool summer song" written and composed by JYP's Park Jin Young for ITZY. In addition to Park Jin Young, the main lyricist and composer, talented producer and rapper Fenomeco participated in the lyrics, and Cazzi Opeia, who wrote "Dance The Night Away" by TWICE, Ellen Berg, who worked on "Peekaboo" by Red Velvet, Daniel Caesar and Ludwig Lindell, who wrote "Red Flavor," and Lauren Dyson, Ashley Alisha, and Cameron Neilson, who worked on "I'm Fine" and "Home" by BTS, collaborated to complete the song.

The group name ITZY, which means "EVERYTHING YOU WANT IT'Z IN US ITZY? ITZY!", is also reflected in the visual concept. The visuals, which combine freshness and loveliness with energetic and powerful charm, make us look forward to the 'diverse future' of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Cheryung, and Yuna under the name 'ITZY'.

ITZY has been labeled as a 'record maker' since its birth and is on its way to the top. The five members, who have more to record than they have recorded so far, are expected to raise the status of JYP's fourth-generation girl group based on their unlimited growth potential.
